The difference between social order and disorder has been measured in the strength of a pane of glass. This thin transparent boundary is all around us, from our homes to the High Street. The results of when it breaks down are never far from us either.
Once the bastion of military order and discipline, RAF Newton in Nottingham has been abandoned since the early 2000s and left exposed to some of the darker impulses of human behaviour .
It was my first real 'unauthorised' experience of urbexing, (urban exploring) and unlike many others I was only intent on taking images and leaving with memories. Whilst I freely admit to being excited by the illicit thrill of it all, I was also fascinated to see not only the chaos and destruction inside, but, peering out of the window, witness the orderly car washing and Sunday business of Middle England carrying on as usual.
